Fun LA: Filming in Downtown Recently

I've been working in downtown Los Angeles since April of last year and in that time have seen some really interesting things, to say the least. Among the most exciting is stumbling upon film sets. They literally pop up out of nowhere and they're in alleys, streets, and even moving cars, like I experienced last week!

I try to keep my cool and not gawk too much but it's hard not to stare. I always try to be nonchalant and act like its no big deal, while I'm secretly snapping pics. Celebs are kinda my thing and I'm hoping I'll see an actor/actress that I recognize soon! Way back in the day I was an extra in a movie so I'm somewhat familiar with film sets. As I walk to and from the train I often wonder if I'll be plucked from obscurity and asked to be an extra or star in a new flick! Hey, one can dream, right?

Lately I've been carrying my phone in my pocket in case I come across something cool. This has really paid off and I've got the pictures to prove it!
The police escorts peaked my curiosity for this car scene.
I came across this set last night - an undercover police car + black van.
I'm really hoping this is a scene from my favorite tv show right now - SouthLAnd. (Tuesday nights on TNT, if you were wondering)

White box & cargo vans are indicative of film sets.
All of this was needed for the undercover police car scene! Random sunset from the train last week on my way home.
Lovin' the palm trees!
This morning on my way into the office I couldn't help but admire the countless sculptures which adorn business plaza entrances. Contrary to popular belief downtown Los Angeles is quiet beautiful and I would like to share this beauty with my readers. I'm debating a post on the sculptures I pass on my way to work. Is this something you would be interested in seeing?
