Wedding Dress: To Sell or Not to Sell?

That is the question!

Growing up I remember my mom only taking out her wedding dress on a few select occasions. During my Freshmen year of high school she let me try on her dress and parade around the house for my brothers. I was so honored to finally try on that dress, but it was way too small! I was very fit at the time, but my mother has a much smaller frame that I do, and she got quite the kick out of seeing me busting out of her wedding dress. The dress itself is beautiful, with lace long sleeves and intricate detailing. My parents were married in the late 70s and it was a dress the dress was very "in" at the time. Twenty years later when I tried it on it was still in great shape and had been well preserved. My parents live out of state and unfortunately my mom wasn't able to attend when I shopped for my wedding dress. I was fortunate enough to wear her veil in my wedding and it was stunning, if I do say so myself. I am very thankful that she was willing to let me borrow her veil on my special day.

Now that I've been married for almost two years I'm wondering if I should keep or sell my wedding dress. This topic that can be looked at from many perspectives and I'd like to hear them all. Will I regret not keeping my dress and missing out on moments like the one my mom and I shared when I played dress up in her gown? Or will I be happy to have more space in my closet, a few extra bucks in our savings account, and that I didn't have to delicately transport it every time we moved?

As I'm debating selling my own wedding dress I'd love to hear what others have done, and are planning to do. I know that selling wedding dresses is somewhat of a new phenomenon but do you think it is here to stay?
